Tune of our Tues.
Ricky Carmichael winning bronze in X-Games Real Moto 2019 comes as no surprise. The greatest of all time (although he doesn’t think so himself) absolutely slayed this custom course built in some sandy woodlands — so many rad moves in this video. Props also to filmer/editor Jack Berg for the super-nice shots and all the work he put into it.
The video’s also worth watching for the Carmichael back-story before the edit.
Tune of our Thursday. Territorial Pissings by Nirvana. With an exquisite performance too.
Some distraction viewing for your weekday.
This has made our day. GMBN putting their clout behind Dom Ferris’ Trash Free Trails movement and getting stuck in themselves.
We like litter picking too. And we definitely can’t understand goggle tear-offs or gel packs.
Good work TFT and GMBN.
One of our favourite sounds, played live for one of our favourite radio stations, which we watch on YouTube…
We at Misspent Summers are happy to welcome legendary photographer and all-round good guy Victor Lucas into our group.
Victor will be working on photo editing jobs (once he’s passed the tea making initiation test) as well as general production for our yearbooks.
We are determined to improve our books with every year of lessons learned and, as we gradually grow (thanks to you, the people who support us), we will always be looking for new ways to make a better product.
The addition of Victor’s expertise from many years following the downhill, enduro and cross-country circuits, shooting some truly iconic shots along the way, will help us to make 2019’s books our best yet.
Find below a handful of Victor’s photos and look for his name in Hurly Burly 4 and The World Stage 3, both out this autumn. We might have a few other surprises up our sleeves too.
A classic tune from a classic film.
The Weight, by The Band.
RIP Peter Fonda
A few years ago we were lucky enough to see Brian Jonestown Massacre play in Bristol (UK). What a night that was, topped off by this song, Yeah Yeah.
As the band worked their way into the tune, we got chatting with the friendly drug dealer and his girlfriend who had been drawing their own crowd all evening for their possessed dancing – arms flailing, flowery shirt and beads flying. Our new mate tried selling us produce but we told him we don’t do drugs (weren’t even drinking that night), to which he was pleasantly surprised and enthusiastic, admitting that neither he nor his missus does either and the whole ‘on a trip’ look was simply good for business. We had a good laugh and then all danced flailingly together. Such is the power of music, we guess?
Anyway. The Tune of our Tuesday. Here’s an excellent rendition.
Could it really be? Our first clothing store best seller… well kind of. After a week or so of our store opening we can proudly announce the MS // Embriodered Sweater in pink is one of our top sellers.
If you want to join the masses (few) in wearing this pink and powerful sweater, get yourself to our store now. Some of us here at Misspent Summers understand this might not be your cup of tea, but don’t fear we have other clothes for sale in our store.
