“The Bike: Ticket to Adventure… or Passport to Pain? Presented by Cloud 9 Cycles.

A talk by professional photographer Dan Milner.

Join us at Cloud 9 Cycles for an evening with the legendary Dan Milner!

Few people have ridden and carried their bikes through as many of the world’s wildest places as professional photographer Dan Milner.

In this absorbing slideshow, Dan talks about the places his passion for mountain biking has taken him, and the challenges he’s had to overcome to photograph such endeavours.

Illustrated by 20+ years of visually stunning photography, Dan highlights how the humble bike has proven to be the perfect tool for adventure —cutting through barriers of language, culture and politics to open up authentic experiences with inhabitants of some of the World’s most remote places.

Riding and photographing pioneering mountain bike trips in Afghanistan, North Korea, Patagonia, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq and Ethiopia, Dan uses humorous anecdotes from such trips to highlight not only the rewards that await the adventurous rider, but the hardships too.

Adventure, he says, is all about the learning experience… as long as you survive them.

Drinks at Cloud 9 Cycles from 6pm.

Talk hosted by New London Architecture next door at the Building Centre from 7pm.

Spaces are limited.”
