What a crazy adventure to get to the start of a crazy adventure. The size and scale of Russia is simply mind-boggling. We met a Russian recently who nearly laughed himself silly just thinking of foreigners’ questions about his country — how could you ask such generalities about a place so vast that different towns have entirely opposing ways of life, language, peoples? Oh he chuckled.
