Misspent Summers

DJ Dave: B&M

I haven’t seen a dirt jump video what feels like years. That may just be me, but it’s definitely slipped into even more of a niche corner of recent. Somethings don’t change though and it still looks pretty darn cool.

I was never very skilled at dirt jumping – I was more of a  ‘long and low’ kind of guy.  This, I think, has definitely hindered my riding.

If you look at riders who grew up dirt jumping you can see just how versatile they are. Brendan Fairclough, Olly Wilkins and the Surrey hills crew are the first that spring to mind but even the top slope style guys can turn their hand to downhill. (Brett Rheeder and Brandon Semenuk are the obvious ones).

I guess at the end of the day it’s just riding a bike isn’t it?
