Extreme Wheel Speed: B&M

The mountain bike racing calendar has no let up in it and hot on the heels of Crankworx Innusbruck we’re off to Italy for the first round of the EWS. This is a double header round meaning there was a race on Wednesday AND a race on Saturday! Phew… I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

Contrary to normal procedures at an EWS the sun seems to be shinning and the Italian trails are delivering that balance of awkward corners and mouth breathing that seems to define enduro racing. The riders were up to speed quickly with Richie Rude and Isabeau Courdurier taking the honours in Wednesday race (Richie beat Jack Moir by 0.48s over 27 minutes of racing!).

One stand out rider from last years slightly truncated EWS was Scot Ella Connolly. Having made the change from XC to enduro she really seems to be settled and enjoying it.  Having placed 8th in Wednesdays race watch out for big things as the season porgress. Take a listen to the Downtime podcast with her to learn a bit more.
