A few weeks ago I plucked out Tom Pidcock’s ride at the Albastat World Cup as the highlight of the weekend. He didn’t stop there and at the 2nd round in Nova Mesto he pulled one out the bag to win his first elite World Cup at the age of 21.
There’s seems to be no end to his skills on a bike and he seems to know it. So much so that he has boldly said he’d like to race a DH World Cup and compete at Rampage. Quite the to do list.
Are these realistic goals? Well he clearly can ride a bike and he’s extremely fit so he’s ticked a few of the boxes. I think he should one up everyone and take his road bike to Rampage. That really would throw the cat among the pigoens.
In all seriousness though, good on him for setting some bold goals. Whether they pay off or not isn’t really the point. He’s taking the professional cycling rule book and tearing it up, which can only be a good thing.
