The perfect shot is hard to capture – it requires shooting thousands of photos, only to pull out a chosen few for editing. The cutting room floor is chaos. The right one can tell the story of the race – capturing the winner as they cross the line, or cut crisp against autumn colours, like our October shot of Dylan Maples in Lake Placid by Sebastian Schleck. The calendar opens into the new year with a black and white shot of Tomas Lemoine mid-air at Darkfest, taken by Sven, and we end the year with a shot of another rider mid-air – ten-year-old Weston Lukens, taken by Boris.
