Ninety is a labour of love from our resident racer, Zoe Cuthbert. Zoe knows the sport inside out. Until halfway through the 2025 season, she was racing alongside the riders in this book, and now interviews them from the sidelines in Misspent Summers race reports and in episodes of The Dirt Dispatch podcast. While a Misspent Summers baby, this cross-country yearbook has Zoe’s stamp throughout, with Q and As direct with riders (including Sammie Maxwell and Alessandra Keller) and first-person tales from Zoe herself, as she moves from racer to media squid. Expect articles from Christopher Blevins and Kate Courtney, and fresh takes on race technique from industry experts. This is the story of the season, race by race.
The cover image of the 2025 cross-country yearbook is by another Misspent Summers friend, Piper Albrecht. Piper is a familiar face at the summer circuit – impeccably dressed, with a perfectly curled moustache. He’s pure delight and was a staple at the Panda coffee cart this summer. He snapped our 2025 cover star, Ethan Rose: ‘New Zealand riders have a knack for style, and Ethan Rose is no exception.’ Piper’s photos run through the heart of Ninety, alongside Kike Avelleira, Ross Bell, Moni Gasbichler, Sven Martin, Andy Vathis and Ben Zeimes.
Built from a pilot publication in 2024 to a full-blown yearbook today, Ninety isn’t just a story of the summer; it is part of the history of our sport.
