OneUp’s EDC V2 Tool just dropped through the door at Misspent Summers.
There’s a saying in the photography world: the best camera is the one you have on you. This is very tenuously applicable here, because OneUp’s EDC (Every Day Carry) V2 is the tool you’ll always have on you when paired with the Canadian brand’s Threadless EDC Carrier system – and it packs pretty much everything you’d need to get yourself out of a sticky situation trailside.
If you’re like me and often forget to tighten certain – and usually crucial – bits of your bike, then having a multitool that’s nigh on impossible to forget (because it lives on your bike) is something you’ll be very grateful for when your mountain bike does what it does best and rattles apart.
At the heart of the EDC V2 is a 20-function multitool that features everything from the usual 2-8mm hex keys and T25 Torx to a chain breaker, tyre lever, spoke keys, valve core tool and even a spare rotor bolt. There are no loose bits to rattle around and inevitably disappear mid-ride or get forgotten in pockets and then make a truly massive racket during the washing machine spin cycle.
Updated since the original version, the V2 also comes with two storage capsules, meaning you can stash anything from tubeless plugs to emergency snacks (or a bit of cash for post-ride pastries). And with the Threadless Carrier tucking the whole system neatly into your steerer tube, it’s a very tidy way of making sure you’re prepared – or at least pretending to be.
Hidden from view and (hopefully) impossible to forget, this clever bit of OneUp thinking might just save my bacon – and my washing machine.
