RockShox Reverb AXS – Fresh goods

RockShox Reverb AXS

FIRST GLANCE

The latest RockShox Reverb AXS just landed on my doorstep courtesy of my ever-smiley postie. You may have already spotted the new Reverb out on the trails or specced on some Enduro and XC World Cup bikes.

The first thing you’ll notice is the relocated battery placement, which not only eliminates the risk of buzzing the battery off with your rear tyre when the seatpost is slammed, but also makes adjusting your saddle height a far less frustrating task. Equally brilliant, but hidden from view, is the new air-on-air system, which promises greater durability and delivers super-smooth actuation.

As a dropper, it does exactly what you’d expect – it goes up and down – but being wireless, it takes roughly 43 seconds* to install (including the application of grease), making it perfect for the mechanically uninclined, like myself.

In short, it goes up, it goes down, it works great, and it makes me look far more competent with a multitool than I really am.
