Hello,
And a warm welcome from semi-sunny Pietra Ligure, Italy, aka Finale Outdoor Region.
We’re here for the first round of 2025 Enduro (EDR) World Cup racing, and what an event it promises to be.

There’s been some naysaying around the state of enduro racing in the last year or two, but it seems the MTB World Series organiser, WBD Sports, is keen to answer the calls of racers, brands and fans.
This week sees world enduro racing return to a two-day format for the first time this decade (and the first-ever time since the Enduro World Series was rebranded as the Enduro World Cup in 2023). That means two big days of racing but also two days of practice – today (Thurs 8 May) and tomorrow (Fri).
Four days back-to-back sounds like an adventure, but there’s more: there’s no technical assistance zone during race days (previously, riders had a mid-way stop at the team pits where they could refuel and fix up any bike issues) and there’s only one shuttle allowed during practice (this has varied by event over the years), meaning the four days of practice and racing will total over 6,000 metres of climbing and nearly 200km total riding. It’s going to be a tough race out there this weekend!
We’ll be back after the race with our full notes roundup and photography from Boris, Sven and Seb.
Cheers,
James
